Mission Statement
What? Why?
The Malta Anthropology Society is a non-profit organisation open to people
from all walks of life. The aims of the society are:
o To promote a broader consciousness of what anthropology is and how it can
contribute to the community
o To enhance and hearten the appreciation of different cultures and support
friendship in a multicultural environment.
How?
In order to accomplish its goals, the Malta Anthropology Society organises
various events, namely:
o Parties, which provide an informal milieu for our multicultural members
to interact
o Meals with special themes that encourage the appreciation of different cuisine
o Public seminars and debates, which help disseminate anthropological ideas
o Presenting ethnographic films, which delve into particular cultures, shedding
light on different lifestyles
The website
of the Malta Anthropology Society keeps members up-to-date with news from
the Anthropological Arena. Articles and book reviews are written so that the
public will be able to further its knowledge about anthropology: a subject,
which is increasingly becoming more important in the contemporary world.
